This page is dedicated to The Simpsons. I grew up watching The Simpsons and playing The Simpsons Hit and Run and at one point the only movie I'd watch as a kid was The Simpsons Movie . I keep going in and out of being hyperfixated on The Simpsons, as it's one of my special interests. I even still really enjoy the new episodes of The Simpsons given that I grew up with the mid 2000s episodes.

I kind of got a Simpsons itch again, probably due to all the Simpsons twitter accounts I ended up following. (My Twitter by the way). So I decided to make a Simpsons page with a Lion King\ Simba's Pride theme obviously.

Now more fitting since The Simpsons are now Disney.

Which makes Bart's line about being the mascot of an evil corporation in The Simpson's Movie kinda awkward now...

Girls Just Want to Have Sums (Season 17 Episode 19, April 30th 2006)

This is an episode I actually remember watching on premiere day. I wouldn't be surprised actually if The Simpsons and Lisa Simpson are some of the reasons I'm a feminist. The show probably subconsciously formed my left leaning views as well. 

In the opening of The Episode we see The Springfield Theater District. 

This is actually a pretty funny joke. Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick were still money makers at this point. I'd argue they still are. I don't think I need to even mention the Simba's Pride connection here.

Simba and Timon were the real moneymakers in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride.

Them we see  The Itchy and Scratchy Musical, an obvious parody of The Lion King on Broadway. 

Fun Fact: A preview for the musical was on the original VHS tape of The Lion King 2 Simba's Pride. It even includes a clip from the ending when Rafiki holds up baby Kiara.

And we see The Simpsons family enter. Homer has taken them to premiere night, probably due to Bart and Lisa being huge Itchy and Scratchy fans.

is the nicest thing you've ever done for us.

Homer: Or will ever do.

Lisa is excited because the reimaging is done by avant-garde director Juliana Krellner, an alumni of Springfield Elementary.

And The stage show opens much like The Lion King but with some more housecat theme imagery.

The huge sunrise in the back is also used in The Lion King 2 Simba's Pride.

Again another obvious reference to Simba's presentation in the opening of The Lion King  but for fun here's baby Kiara's presentation.

There's not really much else to say about this episode in terms of The Lion King, however I do recommend this episode because it does talk about sexism and the education system.

Margical History Tour (Season 15 Episode 11, February 8th 2004)

This episode features a Mountain Lion. I know they're different than African Lions but I do like mentioning other Big Cats on this site.

And for fun because of the mountain lion's fierce appearance, here they are edited to be Zira.

Not an episode I'd recommend though...there's really bad implications of casting Lisa as Sacagawea....

 Old Money (Season 2 Episode 17, March 28th 1991)

The Simpson family pass by a  Discount Lion Safari in this episode. I thought it was kind of noteworthy. I love the cartoony look the lion's face too

Fat Man and Little Boy (Season 16 Episode 5, December 12th 2004)

About half way through the episode Homer is watching a nature documentary on TV, in a depressed state (Due to Bart ending up making more money than him from selling gag T-shirt, and following an embarrassing moment where he needed to borrow money from Bart at a restaurant).

"The wild Serengeti--home of Africa's equivalent to the mountain lion, the regular lion. "

"These toothy Tarzan-munchers have a rigid hierarchy with a single alpha male ruling the pride. "

"Until a younger, more aggressive lion challenges his power."

"The displaced male has two choices: either spend the rest of his days among the other broken-down old lions..." 

"...or find inclusion in the tribe by caring for vulnerable young cubs."

                             This lioness cub reminds me of Kiara. Probably because Kiara chased bugs multiple  times in The Lion King 2 Simba's Pride, and a lot of marketing puts her with flowers.

Mr Plow (Season 4 Episode 9, November 19th 1992)

One of Krusty's Siberian tigers is named Simba. Simba is the Swahili word for lion, making it kind of ironic. 

Round Springfield (Season 6 Episode 22  April 30th 1995)

"YOU MUST AVENGE MY DEATH, KIMBA-- I MEAN SIMBA"

What if this version of Mufasa's spirit appeared at Kiara's presentation? What if Bleeding Gums Murphy and Darth Vader showed up too? Funnily enough The Simpsons and Star Wars are now Disney owned properties....and No this is not a Simpsons predicted the future post. 

Also I'm not going into the whole Lion King copied Kimba thing. All I'm gonna say is Kimba itself was inspired by Bambi, so...

                  Simpson Safari (Season 12 Episode 17 April 1st 2001)

  The Simpson family goes on a safari! I'm documenting the animals that appear in The Lion King franchise.  I didn't see this one on premiere day (Or I did. I don't remember anything before about mid 2002) but I did see it as a re run about 2004 to 2007ish.

This reminds me of when Kovu and Kiara were escaping the crocodiles. Mainly the shot of the crocodile's gaping mouth.

This most likely is a reference. This seems more accurate to Simba's Pride than the first movie though.

The Last Temptation of Homer is probably one of my favorite episodes. I adore Mindy, she's one of my favorite one off characters. When watching the episode I made some accidental connections to Kovu and Kiara.
